It rises in the upper part of Sardara, a village in the Medio Campidano region, and takes its name from the nearby small church. It is characterized by a sacred well called funtana de is dolus (fountain of sorrows), from which springs a source fed by underground aquifers. Thanks to a mechanism that drains it, you can enter and admire its solid architecture, descending all the way to the bottom. Built with basalt and limestone blocks, perhaps during the Late Bronze Age, it features a circular chamber with a tholos (false dome) roof, which you can access via a staircase protected by a corridor covered with flat slabs. In the temple, of which only the well remains, the cult of water was practiced, similar to the sanctuary of Santa Cristina (in Paulilatino), which has a similar structure but is perhaps from a later period.
