Inside, you experience a glimpse of life from the past. Rita Cossu, the seamstress and embroidery expert, welcomes visitors dressed in traditional Pabillonis attire. Here you’ll find the workshop, the studio, and an exhibition of clothes, as well as the preparation of bread and cheese.
Rita works wonders with the pleats of the skirts that characterize the old dresses: she uses an antique hand-operated pleating machine. Inside, there are other collections: sacred vestments and traditional baskets from long ago.
Rita’s true treasure is her clothing, a triumph of golden wheat ears and colorful flowers.
The Casa Museo is not just an important ethnographic exhibition; it is a living place. It is an atelier where work continues in the spirit of the ancestors, an ancient art that Rita preserves and passes on, maintaining the values of our grandmothers.
