Pabillonis Tourist Cycle Route in the Pabillonis Archaeological Park

With the establishment of the Pabillonis Archaeological Park, the chosen path was that of establishing a network park covering a large area, as the sites can be visited via various interconnected routes, and not simply that of enhancing a single archaeological area.
While designing it, we decided to create a basic route of approximately 22 km, a route through the local area, around the town, which allows you to visit various archaeological sites. The route also crosses the entire homogeneous territorial area, touching on the hydrogeological and agricultural environment, allowing you to learn about its fauna, and will be connected to all the other values and attractions of the area, the historic urban center, the house museum, the churches, the community and its traditions.

The trail crosses the entire homogeneous territorial area, skirting the hydrogeological environment (the Riu Bellu and its grove, the Riu Malu and the Flumini Mannu) and allowing visitors to discover its fauna and flora. The basic circuit is approximately 22 km long and is a loop around the town, allowing visitors to visit the archaeological beauties of our country within the Pabillonis Archaeological Park. Walking, cycling, and all other non-polluting means of transport are no longer just a means of transportation in the modern context, but have become a symbol of a desired better quality of life. Physical activity is hard work, which strengthens the body and mind, drastically reducing the onset of disease. In fact, it marks a more relaxed rhythm, a simpler lifestyle, is an excellent energy converter and therefore introduces us to a more sustainable use of natural resources, which today take on an important essence in today’s context of increasing environmental degradation. This is why our path offers a playful, educational, healthy and recreational opportunity. This project protects the territory for its preservation.
